Meet Mimi

DC native, Mia “Mimi” Evans is the owner and founder of Mixin' Mimi Mixology (M3 Events), Life Gives You Lemons and Bad Moms Entertainment.  Mimi attended Virginia State University and the University of Maryland University College with undergraduate studies in Computer Science and Business Management.  She worked as an IT professional for over 10 years.  Her career in the Food & Beverage industry began in 2010 when she graduated from the Professional Bartending School in Arlington, VA and became a certified mixologist.  Mimi was immediately smitten with the art of bartending!

In 2012, Mimi’s father fell ill and passed away from stomach cancer.  She has always admired his business sense, as he was self-employed.  This motivated her to promote herself as an independent bartender, going by the name "Mixin' Mimi”.  Fortunately, that quickly transformed into a business venture, as she discovered she needed additional assistance for the events she was hired to work.  Thus, the launch of "Mixin' Mimi Mixology" in the Fall of 2012.  For four years, Mimi simultaneously worked as an IT professional and operated her small business.  However, in 2016 she was catapulted into the Food & Beverage Industry full-time.  It was through the passing of her beloved grandmother, affectionately known by many as “Nana”, that Mimi vowed to pursue her business full-time and live life to its greatest potential.

From 2016 - 2017, Mimi worked as a Bartending Instructor at the Maryland Bartending School.  It was there that she learned the importance of perfecting one’s craft.  She has since been on a journey - studying, volunteering, competing, traveling - to learn as much as she could and grow as a mixology professional.

COVID-19 severely impacted the hospitality, food and beverage industries in 2020. Although live events have scaled-down, the demand for virtual services and "to-go beverages" increased.  Mimi was fortunate to launch “Life Gives You Lemons”, a subsidiary of Mixin’ Mimi Mixology, that creates organic and vegan-friendly handcrafted lemonades.  The goal is to promote self-empowerment by creating flavors that are not only delicious, but also contribute to physical, emotional and spiritual health.  Each name is derived from key components of the ingredients used, as well the feeling each beverage should evoke while being consumed.

Mimi is a proud mother of a handsome, eight year-old boy.  She currently resides in PG County and enjoys spending time with her son and operating her businesses!
